Saturday morning with the wild dolphins off the Kona coast was amazing! My big expenditure was well worth the money. The crew made an awesome experience even better. Mahalo!
This was my third time leading Japanese students. I had already done mantas and dolphins, so I thought I’d had the full experience, but although both were great, 2019 dolphins and 2020 dolphins were completely different. Own a home in Kona and have done lots of trips on 4 different islands, but this is the best most personal choice. I reviewed last year and said I’d never seen so many dolphins at a time. This year we had fewer, but we saw them interact with crew and free diving participants. Truly cool. One of my non swimmers overcame her hydrophobia and the other at least got to see a few dolphins and enjoy some whale watching on our return. Choose Iruka. There is no comparison.
Mantas at Night near Kona on the Big Island. Here’s what I just sent them in an email: “Y’all are great. Appreciated every staff member! I had fun even though mantas weren’t out for anyone anywhere. I still learned a lot about the other fish. The best tip was Vaseline (in my case Carmex) for my mustache area to get better seal on my mask.” Folks, go on a Hawaiian Experiences tour, they are fun, casual, knowledge and also very professionally safe. It is very rare that you see zero mantas... currents and all that. They even offered a voucher to go back another night or take a different tour! Take towels, I’m warm natured and didn’t need a wetsuit but if you get cool easily, take advantage of the $10 rental of wetsuit (long sleeves to shorts length).
We did the night snorkeling in Kona and the whole experience was such a delight. The team was fun to hang out with and yet very professional and careful at the same time. They also have a free pickup from the Hilton Waikoloa village. After dining into the ocean, they made sure everyone was comfortable and was personally assisted if they felt uncomfortable. This turned out to be a great learning experience as well. Even the kids on biard were enjoying themselves. Highly recommend this team! Kudos!
Great experience! Crew was fantastic, scenery was great mantas amazing! My brother who is autistic loved the boat ride and the sunset Thanks!
Dolphin trip was amazing! The Tiger shark was an added bonus that won't be forgotten. Thank you daddy bear, bear cub and our Japanese dynamo T!
From the start this was a beautiful night! We had a double rainbow the whole ride down to the manta rays with a gorgeous sunset and spinner dolphins jumping all around the boat. I felt very safe holding on to a paddle board with all of the other swimmers. We were treated to a magnificent manta ray ballet and then a quick ride back to the harbor with warm drinks and snacks.
My niece and I signed up for this excursion but wasn't sure if we were going to really get a chance to see and swim with the dolphins. But boy were we pleased! We saw so many dolphins and they were very playful. On top of that, the staff, Alley and Travis were awesome! Definitely recommend and coming back again when we visit Kona!
Very wonderful experience. The large inflatable boat was very fast and stable on the ocean. Comfortable for all. Captain and crew provided excellent information about the manta rays. The large 6 to 8 foot wide manta rays were so gentle and came very close to us while feeding on small plankton in the underwater lights. It was like watching flying saucers in the sea!
Great service. Friendly. Smooth boat ride. We saw lots of manta rays near the kona airport site. Wet suit provided to keep warm.
Iruka Hawaii Experiences took myself and my three sons on a Manta Ray watching trip near Kona, Hawaii. What a great company. Total professionalism from the reservation phone call, orientation, and the trip itself. We had a blast!
